NGOs launch centre to boost ties
Several non-governmental organisations from Malaysia and Indonesia
have launched a centre to boost ties between the countries.
Called Indonesia Malaysia Strategic Centre, it will work to foster ties
between citizens of both countries through cultural and economic
programmes.
Mohamed Ezam Mohd Nor, chairman of Nusantara New Generation Foundation,
one of the NGOs, said: "We are focusing on the younger generation."

He
said this at a media conference at KL attended by representatives of
four NGOs from Indonesia, including Center for Indonesian Reform (CIR), and Indonesia Strategic Center (ISC). Malaysia Indonesia Friendship Council (Prima) deputy secretary-general
Chairul Anhar said both sides should find a solution to the current
situation through government-to-government or private engagements.
